After this one for the NMFBM:

I was asked to do a similar basketweave sheath for the NMSFNO. I was only asked that it be black and that the belt line be about 3" down the handle. This is what I came up with.
I had a bit of fun with this. The main feature line across the handle was designed to mimic the point and round on the butt of the knife.
I've never liked that usual pouch style sheaths have the inner side of the leather exposed when the belt loop is folded over so I trimmed both the sheath and the loop to create a lap joint reducing the bulk down to a little over a single thickness. The strength of leather is really in the top 1/3 or so, so it's plenty strong.
To attach the lower part of the loop I stitched a "tulip" pattern.
And for the tip I decided to follow the drop point and stitch around the tip.

The pictures aren't great and any colour you see is just reflected as the sheath is all black.

Thanks alot guys. I tried to stretch myself a little with this one. Each sheath helps me learn more. I would like to try some carving soon but it's a lot tougher than it looks.
