I got a NMSFNO coming to me. What sheath do you suggest--leather or Kydex? Not sure what I will do with it but I am kinda leaning towards leather since it is a classy design. Then again, is there anything out there already made ready to go?

Check with the sheath makers listed on the Busse Combat site (Rowe, Armoralleather, Mt. Mike). There is also Rainwalker. As folks wake up and sign on, there will be more suggestions.

I like this one from Savage Made Sheaths.

+1 on the Savage Made sheaths - heck of a value for leather!

They might not be the works of art of some of the other leather craftsmen we have around here, but Harry's sheaths are a downright bargain. If you get him to leave off the sharpening stone pocket, I think it runs about $40 per sheath. Can't beat that!

Thanks guys. I will be going with leather. I have a couple sheaths from Harry at Savage already--well three. The MUK, which I got the very first one produced, and 2 SOD's that he made for me from pics and specs. I like the stone pocket, but I keep a diamond stone in the bag anyway so I might go sans pouch. Probably should have him make me one for the DDF to match my Tan SOD too!

These were done by R.Holloman Leathersmith. Extremely well made. Very secure and adaptable too.

That open spine leather sheath is awesome!

I have a few open spine leather/kydex hybrid designs rolling around in my head. I prefer leather and would like open spine, but without the extra bulk required to make an all leather sheath rigid enough.

Sounds like that low profile AK sheath I did a little while back, very thin leather around the kydex.

I got one of Martin's sheaths, but I cheated - it came with a knife I bought second hand :D
