I finally got off my butt, and took more NMSFNO photos this afternoon.

I looked at their site and they are calling handle "black machined micarta" While you call it "Black Canvas Micarta (Machined)" - Are they synonymous?

Yes, they're synonymous. Here is "NMSFNO - Olive drab with black machined micarta":

I wish I knew this before I ordered Saturday I would have ordered the Sage/ black rather than the Sage/Tan - I though black meant like dark black like other knives...Oh well it's shipped.

The black canvas seems to get darker the more you handle it, absorbing oils from your hand I guess.
