You may remember the knife our own Reg Ellery named, a small desk utility knife now called "Cratchet" after the office worker in Charles Dickens' christmas story. Anyway a local guy asked for a man-sized version of one, and here it is...

Overall Length 10 1/4"
Blade Length 4 1/4"
O1, differentially hardened; normalized, quenched and tempered three times, and dry ice/acetone quenched at the last stage
Handle is reconstituted coral with white fiber liners
Bolsters and Pins are 416 SS

Hope you like it!

Dave, Looks like your in competition with Bruce Evans to see who can make the brightest knife. Nice job!

Fantastic Dave. I am very happy with the Cratchet I got from you I would recommend them to anyone. This one is very nice and a bit bigger than mine so more to enjoy.

Looks good in the picture but if it is the same as mine even better in the hand.

EDIT very nice does not do the knife justice. Magnificent

Impossible to make a knife that good looking. Period. Stay hot. You da man to grind and file that damascus collaboration. RL

dave i really like the curves and angles of the blade to the handle. and the half circles on the front of the bolsters and rear of handle really balance things out!

Wow thanks guys, you really know how to perk up an old man. :D I really didn't know how I was going to like the red coral, and before I put it on the knife I polished up one of the scales and showed it to my customer. He thought about it a while and said to go ahead, and I ended up liking this one too. :) Thanks everyone.

Dave

Dave This knife has the looks that make custom knives so exciting! Outstanding style and workmanship!

Stylin', Dave. That's a right pretty knife, nice detail work!

That is one classy looking knife, very impressive. Only problem is now my wife is asking why I don't make her one like that? And I am not that coordinated. Great job

Dave, GREAT KNIFE! Just like the rest of your work, fella. I am fortunate to have spent time with you and had the pleasure of handling some of your excellent work. A big guy with all the right intentions and skills. What a guy! P.S., I really like your mirror polishes, too.
