No Atlanta for me this year

Hey Folks-


Just a quick note... I will NOT be able to attend the Blade Show in Atlanta this year.

My new employers were going to work with me on getting the time off, but I have simply been putting in too many days/hours to get anything done for the show (Js test knives or not).

Since I am already very much behind on orders, the idea of going to Atlanta is just a lot of stress I don't want or need right now. I am, however, dissapointed that I won't be seeing and meeting many of you.

Nick, I'm probably as bummed out about it as you, as I really wanted to see ya there; but, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Anyone who is showing up and feels like attending the now Annual Thursday night dinner drop me a line. Should be about 40 -50 makers and collectors.
 
The visit to Blade and getting a JS status stamp are great perks, but do not define a man and his good work. They only embellish it. I think you are doing what you need to do to stay your own course.

Talk about missing the boat. I've been a J.S. since 1992. I should have went for my Masters years ago, but things changed and our priorities change. It does not make me any more or any less of a bladesmith.
You will do what you need to do when the time is right. I think Jason is sitting out his M.S. for one more year. It is hard to concentrate on doing your test knives when you have to make knives every day just to keep food on the table.
 
Sitting out again this year myself.Now I will have to do the cut and bend again before going for the MS Judging.But just feel I am not ready yet,someday maybe.
Hope everybody has fun in Atlanta,hope to be there again soon.
