No Benchmade manufacturer's forum?

Hey, I'm new to the site and was wondering if there was any reason why I don't see Benchmade in the manufacturer specific forums? Sorry if this is a repost or I have missed something obvious. FWIW I did quickly search to see if this was already addressed.

Thanks

Manufacturers pay to have a specific forum on this Site. Benchmade has not chosen to do so, they have their own forum on their web site.

This isn't correct. Manufacturer's don't pay anything to be here. All they need to do is request a forum and provide company reps as moderators. I'm moving this to Tech Support where questions like this belong.

I see. Still, Spyderco has their own forum (and probably a couple other manufacturers). It's too bad they don't want to get good marketing and support the community that supports them... Oh well.

I stand corrected. Either way, benchmade doesn't have a forum here because they don't want one.

Benchmade don't want to hear that there blades are dum dull

People keep saying this.
None that I buy, or handle, or that my dad and brother buy, are dull.
None.
So I don't believe the vast majority of people who keep parroting it.
I think it's become a meme, and does not reflect objective reality.

I'm pretty new to forums in general; I'll try to place my threads better next time. And thanks for clearing up the answer to my question.

You're quite welcome and hopefully you'll stick around.

I don't think they need the 'marketing' that they would get from having a manufacturers forum on BF. There is plenty of talk about them already.
Also, their knives speak for themselves.

I agree that their knives speak for themselves. However, their knives aren't free, and there is no good local selection (of any knives) for me; I get a lot of information about my prospective knives from the internet because of this. So it seemed odd to me that a forum teeming with information about knives didn't have a dedicated category for a major manufacturer such as Benchmade. I think it would be nice to have a page where Benchmade can relay information like new models, limited runs, etc. I'll just have to find it elsewhere on the net... Or I'll have to use the search function a lot.

As MK said above, Benchmade has their own forum on their own website. I'm sure they're quite aware of bladeforums and the fact that they could have their own forum here if only they asked and provided a moderator or few. But multiple forums means more work, time, etc. I guess they feel that the forum on their website is enough. Also, regarding announcements of new models and limited runs and whatnot, Benchmade has historically kept these things pretty close to the chest compared to other manufacturers. Apart from BLADE or SHOT announcements, they really don't announced new models or variations until they're available. That's just the way they are.

Back when I was active on the Benchmade forum, they had virtually no presence on their own forum. Whether they even read what was posted there was a matter of speculation, but I never saw a company rep answer a question or give a hint about what was coming up. That was a few years ago, so things could be different now.

Sounds like a fruit-named consumer electronics company I know of...
