Saw it firsthand at a knife shop in PA, it is not for me. Doesn't look like wood, the green just doesn't do it for me.

I've not seen one in person, but based on the pictures, the Cocobolo looks a lot nicer, to me anyway.

AAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! don't tell me that!!! Had an amber bone on order but it was defective so the dealer offered me Bird's Eye Maple instead! Let's hope we have different tastes, beginning to fear what the postman may bring:eek:

There is a custom bowie in the Custom section that has birds eye maple handles, and it is gorgeous. Guess you just gotta spend a lil more to get the good stuff ;).

i have a Queen one armed trapper and a Queen bird hook knife, both in BEM. my are a dull gray. i tried polishing them with bees wax but the appearance did not change (still dull gray). it is not attractive. i bought them from a v. well known online knife store and the owner recommended them, saying the BEM was gorgeous. i now think he was just trying to get rid of them.

In pictures on the net BEM looks sort of purple like, does it actually have burl eyed effect like walnut? Beginning to wish I had not ordered (also from a well-known knife business..) Anybody got a picture of their OWN Queen BEM they can post in the meantime? Thanks.

The online pictures I've seen of the BEM knives haven't done much for me. Even on the vendor sites they look dull and "dusty". Also, my main exposure to BEM has been through its use on guitar bodies. In that application you can really appreciate the grain pattern. It always seemed to me that a knife handle was too small a palette to really appreciate it.

Aha! The BEM teardrop liner-lock arrived today.Fast delivery from Tn to the EU:thumbup:

The colour is strange but I certainly like it, don't see any green colour in this...It's a kind of grey taupe colour with lighter watermarks and burl effect that works well, certainly the handle is big enough to show off the 'eye' effect.

I like the pattern of the knife, conv.EDC size but blade is tough to open as the nail nick is small and difficult to get at.

Interesting choice of colour and well polished on my version.

Er, my camera skills are on a par with a retarded chimp...

One of my friends visits next week and she's a professional snapper...she wants to film the entire collection so be a bit patient!

It's a god knife though

I personally like Cocobolo over Queen's BEM. I had a 48 Whittler in BEM and just couldn't get past the ugly color. Larry
