and no way to contact Buck on-line???

I tried the Store Locator...

I live in Western New York State, no dists in my zip; no dists in the nearest Metropollis, Buffalo [coff, coff]...The nearest Buck dist is ~4 hours drive away...

I know I've seen Buck knives at some gun or sports shop, and I can understand that Buck can't list them all...or can it? Don't we have computers just for things like that???

And at the bottom of the No Stores Listed In Your Area msg, it says "if no store listed, contact us (see below)"...but there is nothing listed below, except the site listing which does not give an email address, only snail and phone listings...

Yes, I know...Big move, other more important things to do, Bush economy, cutbacks, etc...

My local Wal-Mart does carry Buck, but I had to find that out on this Forum!!!

So, maybe a msg on the Buck site - "If you can't find an answer to your question here, see BladeForums.com/Buck Forum... :p

You may want to check the yellow pages under 'knife shops' If you had filled out the user profile we could probably narrow it down a bit. Buffalo is in the western part of New York. Some one there sells Buck knives.
Many chain sporting goods stores carry knives also. I like your interest in a Brick and Morter dealer. They need our support.
As another option if you cant find someone close, you can buy here at One Stop Knife Shop. Spark puts alot into the forums and also deserves our support. Plus he has good service.
Now to think of it ,Kmart by the truck stop at exit 52(?) has a few. good hunting.

Thanks for your reply! I just visited my local Wal-Mart; the 110 and the Prince were the only folders they had.

Exit 52 is [I think] Walden Ave; a bit East of Buffalo...I'm about 20 miles North of Buffalo, rarely get in, and with the cost of gas, it wouldn't be worth the drive unless they had a model no one else has...

I didn't see a User Profile, although I did fill out the Survey...

I haven't read a reference to One Stop Knife Shop yet, but I'll keep an eye out for it...

Thanks for the help!

Oh, yeah...No "Knife Shops" in our phone books (just Sporting Goods)...No Knife Shows in this area either...Went to a Gun Show last weekend; good amount of knives on display/for sale, but the Chinese/Pakastani/Bangladeshi "Buck 110" clones were going for as much as Wal-Mart wants for their real Bucks...(actually, it was $25, but add in the 8% local tax, and gas, it's close enough!)...

You can try Dick's sporting goods, but call them first. Their website probably doesn't reflect store inventory, as they appear to be using some generic online distributor.

Same inventory and prices as Kmart.com and some others. But I was in a store many years ago and they had a knife display.

Tell us where you are so some of us fellow western NY folks can give you a hand. I'm in rochester and ever since Cutlery World closed the best luck I've had is at galyans or gander moutain. There isn't much in the way of knife shops in this neck of the woods.

There isn't much of *anything* here anymore. I'm in Lockport, but with gas at $3.00+ I won't be doing any driving unless I know it's for something I can't get on-line. Plus I order out-of-state as much as possible, to avoid making the Upstate pukes any richer. :grumpy:

Still couldn't find the "profile" that Guy referred to. Is it in the Registration section???

Guy - Thanks for the link! I'm a noobie and I can use any help I can get! ;)

I think there is a gander Mtn in Tonawanda. The one in rochester has some really sweet deals on an ever shrinking supply of premium knives. prices are often better than Newgraham or Knifecenter and depending on the vehicle the gas probably equals the shipping, plus you get to look at the knife.

Hi, chickentrax --

If you want to fill out your BladeForums profile, simply click on your membername in one of your posts, as it's a link to your BladeForums' Control Panel, or "UserCP." When you click on your membername it'll take you to a web page containing information about you. On that web page, on a row that runs across, near the top, you'll see a section that says "UserCP." That's a link to your Control Panel. When you click your "UserCP" link, your browser will be taken to a web page where you can create your profile. In the top section, to the left side of the "UserCP" page, look for a line that says 'Edit Profile.' Click it, as its a link, and you'll find several places to fill-in information. When you've filled-out as many sections as you want, simply click the "Save Changes" button, and you'll have a profile!

Dont worry, we wont use the info to hunt you down. The commandos in the whine and cheese may, but not us!1

you should be able to order through our web-site any model you want. They are adding a section on discontinued and other odds and ends soon if not already. Drop me an e-mail, and I'll send you out a catalog.
