Hi to all the Hogs,

Piglet newbie here. I just pick up a copy of 26th annual Knives 2006, aka “the world’s greatest knife book.” Talk about art knives porn, whew, can’t put that book down.

There is a little section devoted to factory knives at the end, almost everybody is there except, and you guess right, BUSSE COMBAT:eek: . I did found the Boss Hog’s name under custom knifemakers and sporting cutlers directory, but that’s about it. Why??????

Oh well, more INFI to us. Still holding my new Satin Jack Tac and waiting for the War Boar, hopefully Leatherman will get to my Dundee rig soon, and who know what he have in store for the boar :D

BTW thanks for all the wisdom and the laughs.

busse combat is kind of an oddball as far as the knives that get put in that collection. its neither fully custom, nor full production (like benchmade or spyderco). likewise, busse tends to get less coverage in knife magazines then other manifacturers, so they tend to come up less in magazines dealing with trends, as its less in the public eye.

(edited to add - wich i should have said previously, that was just my opinion at the time, and im always happy to learn otherwise :D )

I hate to admit this, but we are contacted regularly for articles and pics for articles, but we rarely respond.

It usually falls on me and I can't really justify cutting into my drinking time just to get some more press. . . .

I'm gonna need to slow down on my drinking:confused:   :grumpy: . . . . .Nahhhhhh. . .. I'm good!:D

More INFI for us. I think Jerry does enough business without doing too much more advertising like magazine articles and books like the one mentioned. This does however beg the question of how many of us hogs would shell out for a truly comprehensive "coffe table" book about our favorite knives and maker? I know I would, especially if it had a ton of history in it.

*raises hand*

I'm all for LESS press coverage...

It's hard enough for a 'lil piglet like me to get anywhere near the trough these days. I don't want to even think what it would be like if Busse Combat suddenly turned into Benchmade overnight! We piglets wouldn't stand a chance..

Amen to all.

I am honor by the Boss Hog in my thread :D Do that mean I have to buy Busse knifes only from now on?

No! It means you must sell all of your non-Busse knives and refuse any other knife entry into your home. Only Busses allowed from here on it.
Also, you have to contact Pink Floyd to get an inflatable pig to fly in your lawn at all times. :D

No, you don't HAVE to do anything. The thing is, after you start using them you won't WANT to buy anything else.

Simple as that.

I would definately buy one myself. Heck, I'd even right it if I had the means and materials:D  :p

If I'm not mistaken, there were Busses in Combat Knives 05" but all the models shown were old straight handles and ergos even though those were out of production wayy before the book came out.
