These two no choil knives look quite different.

Which one better represents the production models to come?

It looks like the LE may be slightly different but I'll bet it's because of the lack of coating mainly. The lines look pretty close.

I see that the ricasso is closer to the slabs on the CG. I wouldn't find it unusual to see a variance in grinds.

I'm liking the looks of the no choil round butt... and appreciate the options, but I'm going to pass on the TB.

I don't care for the 'persian' style blade shape of the TB.

All that being said... thank god I don't care for it, there has been some way cool stuff coming from the swamp lately and I need a fiscal break. ;)

Yes, shorter ricasso, and very different in front of the talon hole.

Interesting how different people will have different perspective on the same thing. To my eyes, the lines are quite different. Of course, the only thing that matters is what you like.

Jerry posted in the original teaser picture thread, that the production model would have the plunge line up against the talon hole, minimizing the ricasso. I think it looks a lot better, less blocky, that way.

I have a feeling that the top one is going to be the production model. all it is is a tweak of the cnc code, and the most current pictures (the ones on the website) that are in the purchase section of are the satin version.

In my opinion the blade is really too wide to make the Tank Buster look "Persian". I remember when the Hell Razor came out and I didn't like it especially the CBT...now it has grown on me so much I hope I can get one. Its funny when its available you may not get interested, but later when you think about it and see more if it it really grows on ya. I think from the gate the Tank Buster is great. I appreciate the options and I think this knife is a winner design-wise, but whats got me interested from the start is the possibility to get a Busse without the choil which for me is outstanding feature!!---Joe

I have noticed this too, and I think its peoples glowing reviews/comments that open eyes.

Still hoping that the Shop will weigh in here...or we might have to wait until they start shipping to see which picture best represents the production version.

I'm holding off until some real-world or in hand pics come out... Wonder how many more guys are doing the same...?

Well, I've narrowed it down to four. I'd like to order two with choils, one standard scales, one with mags and two choiless the same way. Should just order one, but will probably compromise and order one choiled and one choiless. May do one with mags and one without.

I've got a longer Busse without a choil and the last time I used it I caught myself trying to choke up on it in time to prevent bloodshed. It just goes to show that I'm used to a choil on a Busse, however on a shorter blade like this I'd like to try it choiless. Aesthetically, I like the choil. All that I order will be round butt, as all the SJ's I had kept poking me in the side. As for mags/regular scales, I'm thinking that I should be able to use the SFNO's to get an idea of what the TB should feel like in hand, at least thickness wise, right?

P.S. Please pardon the thread Hijack, just had a Tankbuster moment there....

One thing that I notice about the two pictures, is the camera angle.

The LE looks to be shot more straight over the top & the bottom one (combat grade looks to be shot from the front blade end of the blade making it look a bit different.

I have seen this happen before, any one remeber the PT 5 tanto thing ?
from the pics it looked really sleek & long & pointy, but it seamed a bit stubby when I got mine ?

See in the pics below how the camera angle makes the knife look different.

I do see how the grind is a bit different on the two but I think the camera angle makes the bottom knife look a bit better, in my opinion :)
