I just added these to my collection this weekend. I am fondling the sub-hilt as I type:

No, not all three (I wish). The sub-hilt at the top of the picture is mine now. More Velarde here http://www.velardeknives.com

Dogman, you did good.

I have one Velarde integral hunter. A gem.

Ricardo really played his cards right ... he didn't even know who Steve Johnson was in the knife world when he met him. And Steve was good enough to teach Ricardo a thing or three. They even collaborated on a few knifes... both names on the blade. Kinda rare.

Then, Ricardo managed to go work for Ditmar Kressler for something like a whole summer in Munich.

Talk about learning from the best of the best in fixed blade perfectionists! Man ...

If you like perfection, see also Reinhard Tschager (German heritage, living in the Northernmost part of Italy, on German border) for some integrals that are even nicer than Kressler's in terms of aesthetics (and about equal in terms of quality, which is to say among the best of the best in the world). The guy just blows me away, even more so than Velarde. More artistic flair, and he'll use things like Fritz Schneider damascus. I eat my own cooking and have ordered my 2nd knife from Tschager... a real master craftsman.

Wulf, you did good too... I too couldn't help myself and bought a Broadwell MLR subhilt at Guild. Super for the money.

My 8th David Broadwell knife. That's the highest compliment I can pay any knifemaker.

Everything Les Robertson says (brags) about Dave Broadwell is about true, from what I can tell. Another one of the best in the world today.

All I can say Bob is WOW!!! Good buy on that one Bob, it is sure a beautiful piece. If your ever going to sell it,(which I doubt very much)give me a ring. I love the sub hilts! The only thing I have close to that is my poor little Corby fighter...
