First evening trying to call in a dog, no luck... only had a few hours tonight though. I'll be back.

WV has a spotlight season - you can use 22 or shotgun with #4 or smaller at night - rifles during the day.

Well same luck,, Hunting the coyote today with 3 dogs hooked with GPS, We do not put the dogs on them till we jump them ..Today am jumped 3 coyote together,
jsut in ,one dog got in to it ,tangled with a couple ,ended up calling him back , while the other 2 bigger dogs are still running another,, a dam mile away..
So the other guys are ringing the road hoping to get one , sometimes it takes hours,, last month we shot 2 within an hour..Hers my big male from that day.
100_1081.jpg Not talking your normal hunters this crew shot 54 last year,,I get in when there around here,,its a challange to stay with these guys on foot..

Congrats on the yote! I am wanting to start hunting them once my retirement goes through. Told mama I need an AR for it..........lol

Thats me retired ,,only do side work if the moneys right,,just came back in,, dogs still running , there back in my woods, been at it since ,10 am its 3:30 now, takes time nothing yet running 2 coyotes,,on and off ..We have only a few guys today , norm 10-15 to get ahead and wait on the dogs running..Its better to be retired lots of hours chasing these killers..
We do rhe calling too , we get more running dogs,,there way smart for calling ..Kill 3-4 and another litter born ,there right back..Cannot get a handle on there numbers,..
We shoot [cayote killer] expensive hard to find,, shotgun loads work the best..

watched a really good documentary about coyote's a while ago. One of the main themes was that the harder coyote's get preyed upon either by wolf or man, they start breeding younger with larger litters.

Don't think there will ever be a shortage of the sly buggers, too smart and successful an animal in any environment

Brad The Butcher ,, Wow that figures..We cannot get on top of this problem..Hunting them more then ever ,,killing our share and they just keep coming ..We clean an area up ,,and more move right in..
They are really killing a lot of fawns,, and turkey around these parts,,I would say rabbits too but there all but gone ......And yes ,the more we hunt them the smarter they get..
Packs are getting small but we are still loosing our grip...Really killing a lot of deer off here....We find as soon as we kill a pair off,, another set moves in and sometimes a pack...
Ended up again 4/26 with 4 kills with this dog. We hate them and hunt when we have fresh snow , to find a fresh scent to dog them..
