No D rings included!

I had to install D rings on both these so I can attach my shoulder strap. The Chattanooga Leather was a hassle, they used hollow rivets and made sure any attempts to install a D ring was not going to be easy. The straps were riveted together. The RMJ scabbard was just a matter of cutting up some old scout straps and getting the holes centered. For what these things cost, why not include the $2 D rings? My Knight Hawk kydex has them already.

I carry a small hatchet every day at work, and have gotten very accustomed to using it. So much so that on (very rare for me) dress up occasions, I miss having it. I’ve been thinking about making some kind of discreet shoulder holster, I already have one for my SA revolver so it’d have to hang on my right side.

I’m a stocky build, so I could easily accomplish that under a heavy jacket, since most of the dress up occasions happen in winter. The tricky part would be when I removed my jacket. Maybe a customized vest…

Never know when a loose piece of door casing will need a tap or two.

I made this strap here just the right length for the kestrel, it has the hawk right there just under your arm near the top, end of handle in at belt level. Unsnap and it comes out smooth and quiet.

Didn’t you look at the picture and read the description before you bought it?

The description does not indicate permanent rivets connecting the straps together and that can’t be determined by pictures. The D rings are very useful and I posted pics to show they also look good on the already great looking sheath. I also posted pics showing RMJ has used these D rings in the past. I recommend they use them on all the leather sheaths and at least offer them as an option if you are buying a new rig. I notice my just purchased Kestrel also has permanent rivets in the straps, and I jleft them off the kydex and made new hangers from old scout straps I had. This post is whatever you make it.
