NO-E Modified, Pics

I got the urge to "improve" my NO-E. I'm happy with the result so here are some pics.

I removed the steel extending from the handle that included the lanyard hole. I never use the lanyard hole and it moved the balance point a little bit forward, making the feel a bit livelier. I liked that a lot. Then I put a shine on the rest of the spine and rounded the edges of the handle slabs a bit. It feels better in my hand. I haven't decided whether to roughen the handle up.

OUTSTANDING!!

That looks like a true custom job. What did you use for the polishing the spine? The micarta looks like it's been polished also. Great job! :thumbup:
 
I used a 2x72 belt grinder to start with (could use sandpaper) and then a regular Walmart sort of buffer to finish (gray, green & white compounds).

The edges of the micarta just went along for the ride and took a nice shine. I doesn't seem to affect the grip much. I've seen other smooth micarta handles and heard that the exposed canvas helps.

sweet! nice job! i have tried and failed at buffing my blade, can you elaborate on what buffer and exactly how you did it?
