One of my favorite things to do at night, just before beddy bye, is to make a quick little fire w/ the help of some INFI. I tell you guys, the more you use your INFI the more you will become attached to them. I have used the heck out of this baby and all I have done is strop her on my jeans or a belt and she is still shaving sharp. I almost considered trading/selling this NO-E in an attempt to get an SFNO but forget about it now. This is the perfect knife for me.

That ugly orange hammer is my baton. Tuff stuff and lots of forward weight for some serious hammering.

The NO-E went through these three knotts with no problem and is still shaving sharp.

She was a dirty girl after this but easily cleaned up with some soap and warm water.

A perfect end to the night. :)

Lovely to see INFI getting used Mr. Lawson!!!!

God it must be hard to decide whether to use the NO-E or the AK!!!!

Nice pics, and makes me wanna bash my FBM around some more!

PS thats one heavily armed rubber chicken you got there!

I make it easy on my self and use all pieces of INFI! I think I might get a piggy back sheath for the AK and NO-E. :)

Remember pics when you bash that FBM. That's a knife on my top 10 list. ;)

That chicken is one scary character. It really keeps the dogs in line. :)

Cool pics!

I've used my NOe for the same thing a lot of times. Of course this year it will be the SFNO and the Heavy Heart that take the brunt of the fire building duty...got to mix it up a little you know.;)

I would set the FBMLE loose on that wood but it just wouldn't be fair....:D

Yeah, my NO-E will ride on my side and be my "only one knife" blade. But the Dog Father will tale the brund of the chopping duty. At least until I get an FBM or similar. ;)

I do need to sharpen my NOe though. I cut some ceiling wire with it one day when I was board and waiting for an inspector to come to a job site.

It cut through the wire but it deflected the edge a bit. That was over a year ago and it has still served well in the meantime. Even the area that deflected is sharp....it's just a little off to the side...:D

Steeling? or Stones?

Note: I can't believe there haven't been more comments about "super chicken" in the pics above. :)

I've been using my NO-E for a long time. I've never had to give it a proper sharpening. Just stopping on an unloaded leather belt. I have one of those Busse strops for when it needs it but it's just not been necessary yet.
When it finally does need a good sharpening I'll use a ceramic rod on the flat side and the Busse strop on the convex side.

I think I'm one of the few that likes the assymetrical edge.

Yummmmmmm! Rubber chicken.

Has anyone carried an NO-E "scout style"? You know, horizontally across the lower back? I am considering this.

I have not. I've only ever carried it in the original sheath for any lenght of time.

It's funny. Being a city boy I used to feel weird strapping on the NOe while camping. I thought people would look at me like "look at the crazy with the big knife!"

Now it's just normal....And I don't think of the NOe as a "big" knife anymore....I may EDC this thing!:D

I have the original sheath and a custom from LeatherHog. All I really need but the horizontal sheath seems interesting to me. I just might get a kydex version and modify it to carry it horizontally.

Heavy: I know what you mean. My in-laws are finally used to me and my knives. After quoating Crocadile Dundee 1000 times to me, "That's not a knife..." ;) I almost always have something strapped to my side. Just S.O.P. now. And the NO-E is just the right size for me.
