Looks like there might not be any football played this season. Of course money is the issue. If there was no football to watch what would you do to make up for the void? Maybe go shopping with the wife :)

I'm not entirely sure that anyone will even notice, or care, just like when the other sports missed seasons, nobody missed them.

you mean "some".... most guys enjoy sports. just bc you dont like it please dont group the ones that do like it with you..

IIRC, the last strike shortened season was in '87. They only played a handful of regular season games. My team ended up winning the Superbowl. Go Skins'. Divvying up 9 billion bucks could take a little cipherin'.

Traitor :D ;).

The baseball strike affected the majority of the population, in that they finally had an excuse to not watch baseball (mine is the Baltimore Orioles :foot: although this season looks like that might change). No one cared when it was hockey (I care because I don't have cable, and can't watch most of the games). Football, however, is a bigger money maker than baseball and hockey, and is now America's passtime sport. Yeah, Nascar surpasses it in popularity, and soccer is #1 in the rest of the world (hey, football). However, football is #1 here, and I would think that all of the businesses that rely on football dollars would "suggest" the NFL and players union come to an agreement.

Go Skins!!

9 Billion per season - I think they will play nice as the time gets nearer.

Whats sad is these people acting like this in the first place.

If there was no football, I would be a sad, sad person on Sundays and Monday nights. :(

I, for one, will be a mess, my profession (sports reporter/producer) relies very heavily on football, that's just the nature of 'merica, we love our football. If there is no football I will have hardly anything to report on, face it, nobody cares about the end of the baseball season until it's playoff time.

Football is our bread and butter in the sports media world

I like sports. However, I can be convinced to not buy any NFL licensed merch or watch the games or support these children in any way. It's gonna suck too.

More time for hockey!!!

I'm a hard core Pittsburgh fan Since I was old enough to understand the game.

This nonsense.... money ?! Owners not making enough profit ? Players not making enough profit ?

Are you kidding me !!? I could live most the rest of my life on what most of you make in a season or two..

Message to the entire NFL - Live in my shoes for the year while I wait patiently for late August , then talk to me about not having much money , while gas and everything along with it soars and my boss trying just to stay in business.

Not one of these jackalopes gets my sympathies.

Cry babies ! The lot of them !

I'm hoping the battle continues to the point of hiring substitute players from the arena and indoor football leagues. The union has already dissolved itself from what I understand, making a player's strike a non-issue. This is an owner "lockout". So replacement players isn't a far-fetched scenario. It would be awesome.

No football?

Hmpffff.... no big deal. It's not like they've canceled Curling or anything.;):D
