Found out today that the joint in my shoulder, where the collar bone intersects has a small separation :grumpy: Doc said no hammering for six weeks. The good news is that six weeks from now would be the middle of June in time for a hammer-in ;) . I guess it's just me and the old grinder for a while. Damn stock removal is too much work.

Hey Mark, glad to hear your shoulder is going to be ok, but sorry to hear you aren't going to be able to swing a hammer. ...6 weeks, you could probably get an air hammer or mechanical power hammer built in your spare time! :) That'd help keep that shoulder healthy over the long run!

Got to grind once in a while or you will forget how Mark! :D
Glad to hear you will be OK!

Mark, sad about the 6 weeks, but I'm glad no surgery! Yep, some stock removal and folders sounds pretty good, fella. Hurry and get well!

Glad to hear it is not permanent. Now go reline that ratty forge, polish the anvil and hamers, and make some folders. Time will fly...Ken

Mark, Switch hit...... Like me I don't think you have the patients for folders. Hope the doctors advise works out for you and you can follow threw with it. A month after my by pass surgery I found myself at the forge not following the doctors advise and I'm sure thats why my chest always hurts now except when I'm in the shop.

Did they say what degree of separation you have? I had a second on my left shoulder from mtn biking. If you give it some time it should heal up just fine. If you have that lump on the top of your shoulder it will prolly stay there though. Good luck and heal fast.

Try to go easy on it until your shoulder is fully healed. I had the same injury about 8 years ago, did not take care of it the way that I should have and I still pay the price in pain when I do certain movements (lifting something very heavy) or after a long, hard days work. Take care Mark

if you really want to you can grind a nice 3" skinner for me. I wouldn't normally bring this up you since you need the grind practice may as well be for me right? Just kidding

Glad to hear you will heal...just let the full 6 weeks go by!
