Let me say thanks for fooling around with this, you never know it may be the only 300 series the club does and likely
the only time I get to have a hand in one's creation. But a matching 303 in another type of steel would be nice. VP Oden was the factory contact and I just served as advisor to him........300

Thanks for the price update (sorry if that had been posted before).

I do hope they put a limit on the # someone can order. I would prefer to see the max number of BCCI members get first shot at them.
Can let people buy more later IF (huge if here) they don't all sell out on the first round.

Would love to see a smaller version done like this as a limited edition for their line up.

Ok, so when is my newsletter going to get here?!?!? :-)

Thanks, sounds good. O-no way anyone would buy more just to resale to the NON-member public... DM

Not a BCCI member, not a traditional guy, really not much of a Buck guy, either. But I've got to say, that looks like a great little knife. Congrats to you guys, as I am a bit envious.

Was kind of on the fence after I found out it was the standard grind and not FFG but knowing it will be BG-42 I'd like to get at least one plain as a user.

I think maybe I would order a plain one. Although not much of a 301 fan (I have 3) I like the white micarta and bg 42 blades. I can also afford the 92 dollars. Which many of the club knives have been to pricey for me.

BG-42 blade steel on all three blades. Some might never need to sharpen this, if a user EDC, knife in their lifetime. So very unusual and unique for Buck to make this. Did you lobby for BG-42 300? Or were you born under a luck star?

They both appeal to me. The plain is a blank canvas. The etched looks regal and exclusive. The BG-42 blade steel screams cut cut cut...

BTW 300, you never have to prove your value in any other way. Well done and thank you. I feel rich from just having seen this enchanting folder, as if from a dream, never saw it coming. What massive pull you command ($100 less than the B&C 301! http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/BU...ckman-3-78-inch-Closed-Length-Ironwood-Handle)

Fantastic news!!!
Awesome looking scales, awesome steel....NICE. When 300 was hinting around I thought that maybe it would be 440c steel...then I thought maybe s30 or 12c27 as they are currently using those on other knives...BG42? Awesome! I agree that the only thing I would prefer is a flat ground blade, but that would be nit-picking, especially at this price point. In for a plain and an etched if 2 are allowed, one plain if only one is allowed.
Thank you Craig!
Thank you Larry!
Thank you Buck!
This has helped push me over the edge...I'm gonna go ahead and convert to Life membership in BCCI.

Oh, and yes, a 303 to match would be way cool as well.

Glad lots of folks are positive about the project. Be sure to give VP Oden most of the credit, as he is the person who can call up the factory and talk to the important people at the drop of a hat. I discussed some of the stuff with him, but as the one poster said, I was mainly in charge of the "marketing BS". ha

As I said somewhere, the cost of this type of special knife production is enough that the club has to be really careful with its funds. After Idaho this summer all we could strain for was about 200 knives. Hope everyone really gets a good one. I have never had a BG-42 blade. Prove me right when I said we would sell every single one in just a couple of weeks. Buck is especially kind in many ways when the club does one of these projects. In all likelihood, your knife will come as close to being custom shop as it can get.

With your acceptance of this special knife , maybe we will see some more smaller folders fixed up and offered in the future. I will tell you early on we were working on this being a 301/303 set. But, the cost was so high several board members felt just a 301 would get more made and out in the hands of club membership. That's what a board is suppose to do, think about the clubs overall membership.

There are all kinds of options for the future, a matching 303 maybe in BG-42 but D-2, 440C or even s30V would make it special. Yes, I like flat grind also, but I have no idea on the production ability of that. Maybe a match steel and scale set with a 110 and a 301 would be popular. Will use your desire to get this knife to show the factory the market is out there.........Enjoy the leather slips also.

I'm definitely in for one of each if they are available.

Thanks Craig and Larry!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

One of each pretty please. Thank you Larry Oden, Craig and of course Buck. What a blast. What a club. :)

If you decide to join BCCI, be sure to consider the lifetime membership. It is really a great deal. Either membership will give access to model histories, all of the club newsletters from day one and a lot of other benefits.
