Oinkers,
Kydex or nylon for a sheath. Weigh in with your preference. No leather. Thanks.

What blade? How are you carrying it? I personally love leather, if it can hold a Bull together its tough enough for me!! Aaahh the smell of fresh tanned cowskin!

Kydex for a concealed "business" blade. Nylon with a kydex insert or for a "use it a lot tool" blade so I would just say kydex when given those choices.

I have two Busse knives in sheaths. An AD in Chuddy Bear leather and a BATAC LE in a Spec Ops nylon w/ a kydex insert. I like both very much. -DT

Get both in one sheath -- Semper Paratus Tactical.

You won't regret it, I promise!

I like leather, I like it a lot.

But if you are going to go with something that is not leather I would say Kydex is the way to go. It can be formed to the knife so that you have retention without operating snaps or straps, and it is rigid enough that the knife can be replaced in nearly any circumstance.

I do have to say that it is entirely a personal choice and everyone has their own tastes.

Kydex baby!!!! Holds INFI till the next thing needs a chopping :D Plus you can drill a hole or two and add stuff if you want :) If it gets dirty, simple soap and water will fix it. Sure that'll work for nylon too but I have NEVER had to deal with loose threads on kydex :)

nylon adds unused bulk, unless you need that bulk to attach it to something - or to have a pouch attached to your sheath.

Like bill said, if I'm going into the woods, a 2 peice nylon/kydex sheath is nice so I can carry my leatherman and my knife in one place, its comfortable and doesn't hug the body to hard.

but for edc, kydex all the way.

Thanks All! For the GW, I'll go with Kydex. I heard a knife should not be stored in leather as it will corrode eventually. Where is my Game Warden, by the way?
