No longer a safe queen

First off, I never intended this knife to be a safe queen, but that was the way it started to look! It was just too pretty to use and I couldn't bring myself to use her. I thought about it a couple times while bumming around outside the house, but that's as far as I got. Well, I finally deceided to take the family camping for a week, but I had little time to prepare for it. I actually was going to take my Swamp Rat Rodent 9 with me because I still couldn't bear to get dirty my Battlefield Mistress! It's an expensive, pretty knife and part of me wanted to keep her new. After a couple take her out and put her backs, I finally deceided to take her and I'm glad I did.
I bought some seasoned Cherry wood for the campfire from some local and decided that I needed to break in the old Battle Mistress with a little batonning!
The BFM didn't split the wood...the wood exploded from the BFM!!! It was an amazing sight to see! I'd get down about 2" from where I started and the wood would explode apart. I tried with even knots, but they were no match for the BFM either! Mind you that this was seasoned Cherry with knots too! I'm glad I finally used her, but she's no longer a virgin....safe queen I mean :D

I have to say.. Those straight handle's are growing on me..

Smaller grip and thinner blade, but stout enough for pretty much anything..
