I am aware that this is the Chris Reeve Forum, however I know that there are those who visit this site also have a lot of respect for Scott Cook and his knives especially his Lochsa folder. I visited his site a few days ago and noted the following:

"Currently not accepting new orders - April 24, '06."

Fortunately for me, I placed my left-handed Lochsa order last month.

This doesn't surprise me the least!!!!
His knives are higly in demand........,and his Lochsa must be the nicest framelock around the world,PERIOD!!!!!

Fortunately I ordered my Lochsa a couple of months ago!!!

The Lochsa is a very nice looking knife. I had heard a rumor that Scott was going to offer a small version of the Lochsa in the future so I asked him for both a regular Lochsa and a small version if he begins to produce them.

Yes....,I've heard that rumor a long time ago......,to be honest....,I think chances are close to nothing that a small Lochsa will be coming up anywhere soon!

I am grateful that I put my order in this past January, and didn't wait any longer!!

This really should have gone in the Blade Discussion Forum.

Maybe I could have posted in the blade discussion forum also, but the reason I posted here is because I think people who monitor the Chris Reeve Forum would be interested in this information. As we all know, Scott Cook used to work at CRK and besides I have seen a number of posts on this site that discussed the Lochsa such as comparison of the Lochsa with the Sebenza and so on. As you can see on my initial post, I fully acknowledged that this was the Chris Reeve Forum, but felt that there would be forum members who would be interested in this post.
However, if you wish to move this post to the blade discussion forum, be my guest, however I wonder, how many Chris Reeve Forum members view the blade discussion forum, I know I don't.

For starters, discussing another maker in a forum that is dedicated to CRK is bad form whether or not he used to work for him or not. The CRK Forum is for the discussion of their knives not Scott Cook's knives. Comparison threads are fine. But starting a post dedicated to SC in CRK's forum is bad etiquitte. One thread on the topic would be fine. No need to start multiple threads on the same topic. ;)

I agree! After all they are competitors!

Well, everybody has an opinion. I just don't particularly agree with yours as you don't agree with mine. I wouldn't have posted if I thought for a moment that Chris Reeve would be so insecure that a mention of a competitor's knife would cause him to have difficulty sleeping at night. I think not. I think it bothers you more than it would bother both Chris or Anne. I am very fond of Chris's knives as I own four Sebenza's and four Mnandi's. Lastly, I didn't post the thread for my benefit, I posted it for the benefit of others. Many members of the CRK Forum own the Lochsa and there are others who have mentioned interest in the Lochsa on this forum. It's not like I posted this every week. I only posted it once. Besides, Chris should be happy to hear this news. Those people who were interested in the Lochsa will now most likely lean to purchasing a Sebenza or a Tom Mayo TnT. Like I said, be my guest and move the thread and you did so it's over with, no hard feelings, I think.

1. I didn't move it. Take it up with whoever did if you don't like it.

2. It's disrespectful to do what you did.

3. It doesn't bother me at all.

Would you start a thread in the Benchmade Forum about Spyderco? No, you wouldn't. There is a correct forum for everything.

I certainly hope it's over.... It doesn't matter whether the Reeves feel "insecure" or not; we're not going to let you be rude in their forum. We gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was just ignorance; we moved the thread and explained it to you. If you do it again, well, the sharks are always hungry ...

I just sent my LH Lochsa back to Scott for a refurb and he's going to make a solid 14kt thumbstud and he's doing a small MOP inlay at the pivot. I agree with Ken that all things considered it was a poor choice to post in the CRK forum. I think in the custom section would be more appropriate.;)

I agree with this statement as well!!

Under normal circumstances, maybe the Custom Forum would have been the best to make this post, but in this situation it was my goal to get this message out to those whom I thought would be most interested, the Bladesforum.com family, my family to my thinking. I've only been a member of this forum for approximately 1 1/2 years and before I joined this family, I'd never heard of Scott Cook or the Lochsa. I learned almost everything I know about the Lochsa from reading posts on this forum. The Lochsa may not have been in the title of the threads, however there has been much discussion within the threads concerning the Lochsa during the time I've been a member of this forum and I've never read one complaint concerning this until I made one simple statement notifying forum members that Scott Cook is no longer taking orders. I guess that I didn't have to reply to Raoul's post. It's not like I was praising Scott Cook or his knives. I only said that The Lochsa is a very nice looking knife period. Being that I have read so much about the Lochsa on this forum, I felt that there would be a number of members who would be interested in this information. If I hadn't learned of the Lochsa from reading this forum, even I wouldn't have wasted my time posting information concerning it. I'll tell you what I don't like is a new post with 10 replies and when I open the post to read it, the only interesting post is the first one. The rest of them say things like,
I agree with you.
Same he said.
I don't know.
Call Chris Reeve Knives.
I agree with this statement as well!!
And so on and so on. These type of posts are a waste of a readers time.

Also, TheKnifeCollector, you didn't seem to have any problem with my post in your initial reply, "I am grateful that I put my order in this past January, and didn't wait any longer!!". Well, I can see that you're not going to try to understand my intentions as I've tried to present it so I've got nothing else to say on the matter to convince you otherwise. I guess I will just go back to reading other people's post and hope for something interesting to read now and then.

I guess it's not over because you're still trying to explain yourself. Cougar said to knock it off. Please do.
