No longer scared of sharpening CPMD2

I bought a Para D2 about 3 months a go and it has kept an edge longer than any knife I have ever owned which is good because I figured it was going to be a bear to sharpen. I decided to go for it last night and I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I started by marking the edge with a sharpie to make sure I was getting the correct angle. I ran it across a 600 diamond stone a few times and it was already shaping up nice. Once I felt a slight bur I went gently on both sides a few strokes and then finished up on a ultra fine Arkansas stone. I got a huge grin on my face when I went to shave hair off my arm. Hair was popping out nicely. Sliced off some 1/32 pieces of paper with little effort also.
The whole process was about 15 minutes. I used to hate the thought of any diamond stones but I've also never owned D2. I found it just as easy to sharpen as the 154CM on my mini. My wife bought me a Sharpmaker for Christmas and I am curious to see if it does well or if I might need to get the diamond stones with that as well.

I keep my D2 Para poppin sharp with just a few strokes on the Ultra Fine sticks on my Sharpmaker. The diamond sticks are very coarse and are best reserved for re-profiling and other serious metal removal.

600 grit and a light touch didn't seem too bad though. I am looking forward to the Sharpmaker for maintenance for sure.
