I never seem to see much posted about the Becker/Ritter MK2. I have been thinking about picking one up to lower the effects of tweener fever. Just wondering what people thought.

It's a fantastic knife. I carried one at the first Becker Gathering and used it for all tasks that weekend.

Man, these just do nothing for me from a looks perspective. Someone please sell me on one.

If its price were closer to that of the bk2 I would consider getting one and moding it. I would probably strip it and take the ramp off. Basically a thin slightly longer bk2. That might be kind of cool. however not at the higher cost. maybe some day but I doubt it.

OK, here's a mental picture for you to ponder.

Think of that lovely drop point blade on the Mk ll with the finished stripped, the thumb ramp ground off and a really nice set of scales on it.

It's a very graceful knife.

I suppose one could pick up a bk7 and make it look the exact same way with a little time and effort so its even harder to justify it in my mind if you are buying it with the intention to make those changes. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think it does anything the BK10 doesn't , that being said I've carried it and used it some and I do like it a whole bunch. I like how they are serialized, the rough texture is good and rowen makes a chronic knife.

I think the BK12 (MKII) looks like a perfect knife for all around use. But like others, the price is prohibitive to me.

Maybe someday :).

Its a wonderful knife...but I don't think that removing the ramp is a good idea.might as well grind a 7 down and take the ramp off that..a knife like the mk 2 deserves respect on it's own...you have a team up of 3 great knife makers putting this together and it's a waste of money tearing up an already perfect knife.

I agree it is a great knife. Like Sam said, Mr. Ritter, Mr. Becker and Mr. Rowen came together and came up with the BK12/MKII. That is one hell of a pedigree.
