I guess I can say that I finally got scammed to a certain point. Two and a half months ago prior to sending in my money, Mike Sastre was REALLY good at replying to my emails and questions. After my checks were cashed, that was the last that I heard from him. I sent him several emails two weeks apart to try to get a response. That was no good. I tried to be polite and not cram him with emails. Two days ago I left him a message on his answering machine. No response. I also sent him another email. No luck either. I can understand if he is busy but at least keep the customers informed. I decided to have him make a Spydie Military sheath and Native neck sheath after all of the wonderful comments about his products. What's the deal? If anyone of you know him tell him I need my stuff!!!

PS_ Did he die or what?

Well, I can tell you that he didnt die. I was to meet him at a local bar here in Cincinnati last saturday night after he called me that same day, but I got tied up and couldnt make it. Ive done my homework and did a full search on him on the forums and all but yours are all above average, on his work and credibility.

Hope all works out. I will follow this thread and see how it worked out.

I've never had anything but quality service and great products from Mike. I do know that he is a whitewater boater and this may be the season in his part of the country. I know how frustrating these things can be from your end but I am sure that you will be happy with the end result, perhaps there has been a mix-up. -Alan

I can totally understand if he is really busy with his hobbies and all. I have nothing against him. From all of the good comments I can definately agree that he is a good person. It just sucks being on the other end in this kind of situation. I am clueless as what to do next. Any help will do. Thanks guys.

Spirex..

I have email Mike for you..

I'm sure he will respond very soon..
Just hang in there a bit...

It will get resolved I'm sure...
Mike is not one to mess around with his customers...He'll take care of you..

Mike's out working with the prospective US Olympic Whitewater teams right now. I caught him headed to the Ocoee for trials so don't be supprised if he's out of pocket right now.

Take care,

Mike

Spirex,
I know Mike and he is a standup guy. I don't know what your situation is at the moment, but I'll mention this thread to him if I talk to him anytime soon. The thing to keep in mind here is that, for Mike, making sheaths is one of about 3 or 4 things that he splits his time between. That doesn't even count hobbies. When people say he is a serious kayaker, they mean he gets paid to do it (though I know it's a passion for him too). I'm sure you will get your sheaths though.

This really probably belongs in the good, the bad, and the ugly, anyway.

Them:"What's that clipped to your pocket, a beeper?"
Me:"Uuh....yeah, something like that."

Paul,
I didn't know really which forum to put this subject in. I'm not PO'ed at anyone. I was just mainly looking for help.

Everyone,
Well Mike contacted me during the weekend to explain everything. Everything is cool now. My sheaths are finally on their way. I thank everyone for your help in this subject. Again I am sorry for making this seem bigger than it was.
Mike Sastre is truly a gentleman. People just get busy at times.
Like I said earlier, no harm done. I will hopefully do more business with him in the future. I'm just broke right now. Thanks again. CASE CLOSED

PS_Mike, if you ever read this thread, I apologize for the first post. It was frustration talking. I didn't mean to sound pissy. Sorry for the usage of "scammed". Sounds terrible too. SORRY!!!!
