I promised to provide an after-action report for field dressing and skinning.

Well, I'm sorry to report that after hunting Vandenberg AFB for three days my pal and I saw no pigs whatsoever. Much sign in a few places, but no pigs seen nor heard.

So I never had a chance to field test my new SOG Bowie or Seal 2000.

Bummer. Hope you have better luck next time. Aside from no Pigs, how was the weather and location? If those were good then it would not have been much of a loss.

Vandenberg AFB is on the coast, about an hour's drive north of Santa Barbara, CA.

Weather was stunningly Perfect !! Daytimes in the 80's, evening's in the 50's. Truly perfect. No bugs either. Clear skies, no clouds, beautiful hillsides covered with green grass.

No luck hunting, but 3 days of fantastic camping !!

Cheers,

Carl

We've had sightings, and road kills (!) of wild boars in my neck of the woods - southwestern Ontario! That kind of surprised me, I'm not sure why...

Those are truly UGLY looking beasts!

Carl, sounds like you had a great time, and that weather sounds wonderfull. I love the snow in the winter, but since I servered 4 tendons, my left arm hasn't like cold. Wish I was down there enjoying the lovely weather.
