I haven't bought a knife this year and have been avoiding the forum to help resist temptation. I looked around this morning and ended up ordering an Orange GEC #65 Fish Knife. If you have one please share your thoughts and impressions as well as photos if you have them. Thanks folks.

I have one in the KnifeBrite. It was my first GEC, and I was fairly impressed. No gaps, seems well put together, no blade play at all. I was surprised to find it has a halfstop on the main blade. It wasn't particularly sharp out of the box, but is now with just a little effort. I don't have a pic, but it is longer than a Case Trapper, but maybe a bit wider. Mine had a bit of a burr or flash on the very edge of the bottle opener, but aside from that it was pretty great. I'm certainly happy with it.

I don't have one and frankly don't find it tempting. I'm sure it is as practical as any folding fish knife can be, but the handle shape gives it the appeal of a boxcutter.

Functionality is what I am looking for and I hope this one has it. Different strokes. I have a couple of Mora knives in the tacklebox but this looks like it would be handy. I have found the other 2 GEC F&F knives I own to be a good value. Thanks for your reply.

Some owners of stag or Primitive Bone Hogans might find the handle reference amusing.....:D:eek:

My #65 came in today and it's one heck of a "boxcutter". No gaps, nicely aligned blades, good balance and a great value. Of course Mike came through as usual with fast shipping and good packing. Thanks Mike. I am looking forward to the next GEC Farm and Field offering. I may have to add the F&F Farmer Lock soon.

It looks too blocky in pictures. I like the concept though. I have a bullnose that I love.

Bought an "orange" one and it's going fishing - Trout season opens in Illinois tomorrow. Follow Modoc Ed's thread to see some pictures of my #65 F&F&F.
