Hi guys, I have a question. I just recently purchased my first Sebenza:) YAY!!! The only thing is it does not have any writing on the blade. I was under the impression that all knives had to have the steel type used and country of origin on it. Am I totally wrong about this?? Any input welcomed. TIA. c.j.g.

look on the spine of your sebenza. make sure it doesn't say "made with pride in taiwan"

^^sorry man, couldn't resist :D

i don't own a seb, so i have know idea if this is the norm, but i HIGHLY doubt there's any laws that this must be stated on the blade.

AH, you're wrong. :)

The only sebenzas that have writing on the blade are the flat ground ones, with Chris Reeve signature.

They are made in the USA so there is no country of origin marks. The handles may have batch marks on the inside.

Edited to say, that if you import knives they may have to have the country of origin on them somewhere, but as mentioned, these aren't imported.

I'm not aware of any law that you have to mark what blade steel a knife is on the blade, some companies do, but not all.

The fixed blades from CRK are marked as you describe. The scales on the folders are marked with a batch number, with the most recent blades having an "S" near the pivot to denote the use of S30V steel. You have to take the knife apart to see the marks.
