So, Buck seems to have an issue with Canada and marshmallows :-)

Noticed this note on the new Buck marshmallow sticks today, "We are unable to ship the Marshmallow Roasting Sticks to Canada at this time, we apologize for the inconvenience."

Is it the elk antler issue, too long to ship to Canada, or simple Buck wanting to limit sweet treats for our Northern Buddies?

They're helping Canada out.
We have become too lazy to find and a stick and put a point on it, but in canaCa they get to work for their marshmallows :D

Seriously though, the only thing I could think of is them being thought of as a weapon since they're made by a knife company.

We buy Buck knives every day in Canada, they are sold in every sporting goods store you can find.
I have also ordered from the custom shop 3 times with out issue.
Who knows maybe Marshmellows are on the endangered species list!?

Should be no issue as fixed blade knives are fine to import to Canada.

It likely is because the Canadian border agency recently passed a dumb ruling regarding the import of folding knives and so buck might not want to send any items they aren’t positive will make it across.

Rather than them trying to understand the confising and inexact wording of the Canada border agency's decision.

Hmm, well hmm.
I don't think the folding knife laws would effect these since they're way to long , I wouldn't think customs would inspect such a long box for folding knives .

I agree, but I think it is likely Buck might not be fully up to speed what is or isn’t allowed across.

Also canada has a law against items that are “weapons” being disguised as “not weapons.” It could be that buck is worried that the border will treat these as though they were in that catagory due to them being made by a company that is known for making knives.

If they said “Sears” on them it probably wouldn’ be an issue. We have similar prefabbed marshmellow skewers in Canada. Buck might be worried that the border idiots will see “Buck, marshmellow skewer? This is a hidden weapon!”

Makes sense.

Outlawing imported marshmallow sticks doesn’t surprise me. Actually anything the Canadian Border folks does lately doesn’t surprise me.

They are confiscating folders that can be opened with centrifugal force or with a hole, thumb stud, etc., and also recently outlawed “flippers” and auto-assisted knives.

Of course, a few days ago I was able to buy a Buck flipper WITH a hole and able to be opened with centrifugal force.... at Canada’s largest Tire store. Lots in stock as well. Crazy times.

They want you to buy more knives so you can carve your own marshmallow sticks...
