No more HC Damascus

I called the shop to make an order today and learned they are not using the HC Damascus any more - only stainless. I was quoted a wait time of one year but she said it generally does not take that long.

I also tried to order a Mountaineer I but got denied.

Anyways, I'll be getting something very special in a year or so.

I don't know but am led to believe that CRK put a coating over the carbon Damascus when they were using that.

I am glad they are going to the stainless only damascus. That will surely help those not in the know to buy a new damascus with no worry of rust. I love my mnandi with stainless damascus. I truely think its the best knife steel I have ever come across. Its not only beautiful but very useful and tough.

Actually, I have been waiting now almost a full year for my stainless damascus Large Sebenza, so maybe not always, but it sometimes takes that long indeed

I hope it takes the full year. My knife budget is already strained as it is. If my damascus is ready before I 'reset' my budget on 1 Jan my wife will smack me around.

I've been using a ladder damascus sebbie as an EDC for about a year, and it's the sharpest, easiest cutting, biggest joy to behold, and use of any knife I've ever owned! Bart1
