i was at my local mom and pops gunstore today just checking out knifes and handguns when the owner(a good friend of mine) showed me a stiletto made by kissing cranes in germany. He told me to pick this one up(the last one) up because he heard they are no longer going to make them and his reason was they were going to make them in asia or china since they are buying all the steel up now so to speak.....Is this bs from a friend or is he telling the truth?like someone to chime in and let me know.Either way i bought it because its somewhat of a decent knife for the money but would like to know the facts about the transfer of ownership if any. Thanks

Robert Klaas/kissing crane has been having others make their knives for years now. I have'nt heard of an Asian contractor for them, but the bowtie/Stiletto style folders were being made in Italy for them by Falcon knives.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me to see Robert Klass get some models made in China. Lots of other companies are doing it, so why not them?

I have to agree that Bob is right- the stiletto style have always been made under contract in Italy ( most recently by Falcon-Fox knives) for Kisssing Krane. Robert Klass ( Kissing Krane) has had a few auto knives made in Korea by the Bell Metal company and Italian contractors over 30 years ago. These are the out the front opening models that say Robert Klass on the blade. I always thought they were a trade mark rip off until I saw them in his catalog....I believe his real German line is still going strong.
Look at SMKW as they have both Falcon and Kissing Krane at good prices....
