Please, do not post any more links to the For Sale forum from HI forum. It is apparently against the rules, and we'll certainly obey our Landlord who has been very kind to HI.

Yikes- I may have jumped the gun with this thread. We've had such links for a long time in HI. It apparently isn't allowed in other forums. I'll find out what the Rule truly is and get back to you.

edit- Yep, Sparks has decided- no more sales links in discussion forums. Go to the sales thread to see what's for sale.

Bruise, I don't believe Spark's ruling applies to your blackmarket trade in human suffering. You fall beneath the radar. Or was it above?

btw, where's my indulgence, I need some. I'm tired of all this stuff.

Links only or all mention of stuff for sale? Can people still say they've got x for sale in the sale forum, if they don't put up a link?

This seems weird to me since it is all within the boundaries of Bladeforums (not going outside like to ebay), but will of course abide by our hosts rules.

Any future inquiries about the lovely and well oiled cat in the triangular box will have to take place in the "Oiled cats" forum.

No links or mention of items for sale in any discussion forum. I went back and looked to make sure.

Nothing at all wrong with going to email if a person wants to take the time to look up everyone's address except it might be considered spamming.;)
Those that don't have their email listed will just be SOL.;) :) I have my email addresses sorted into alphabetical order and have the majority of the guys here listed, only a few I don't have I think.:cool:
Most of us here on HI are the only ones interested in khukuris generally anyway.

But it would broaden our experience, I've found that every time I go to the For Sale Forum I stick around a while checking on what's for sale. There's some killer deals there pretty often!!!! :D
 
Well, I'm pretty much an obey the rules kinda guy, and I _guess_ I can understand not having a direct HTML link in a thread here that redirects over to the sale forum (although it was really helpful when Rusty's stuff went up for sale). However, not even being able to _mention_ that you might want to check out the sale forum seems really capricious and silly. I would really appreciate knowing why this rule would be in place.

Although, I suppose some guys in some forums would spam every 5 minutes about their Randall for sale or something, which would be seriously irritating.

However, if they are HI knives, sold by HI Cantina members, and the sale is mentioned in a thread on this specific manufacturers forum, then I think an exception should be made for that situation.

Just my .02¢ worth.

HOW MANY posts? :D

The business about not posting sales or notices for sales is partly a matter of Gold & Platinum memberships are the only ones allowed to sell on BF. If sales get posted elswhere than the proper forums it becomes impossible to track. A non-selling member posting a notice that he has a knife available can get email about it, which is circumventing the system.

When you go to the sales forums, put "khukuri" or "HI" in the title somewhere so you can spot each others' posts easier.

Hey, I'm averaging exactly 78 posts per month for the last 18 months that I have been here, so I'll reach your approximate 13,400, in...let's see, borrow from the 7, carry the 1... uh, looks like only 13 more years! (and 11 days.)

However, I've no doubt you'll reach 8,000 posts without having made as many mistakes, stepped on toes, rudeness and injury as have I. Though I doubt even you, well liked as you are, could acheive 8,000 posts smiling in a row.

No, if that's the goal then I have already missed it! And I wouldn't judge yourself too harshly Munk. With that many posts even Mother Theresa would say something that would step on someone's toes or someone would decide to take offense to at one time or another. Frankly, I wouldn't care to know a person who never, ever took a stand or lacked the courage to respectfully disagree from time to time!
