No more production Striders?

Ok so I am confused; I saw the statement that Strider Knives was closing down. Apparently due to a falling out between McBurger and Dwayne Dwyer.

I heard at first that the production knives (SnG, folders, fixed blades) were going to be discontinued. If someone wanted an SnG or whatever they would have to get a custom from MSC or Dwayne Dwyer Customs.

Later on in that same thread it was being said that McBurger would still produce production SnG and a few other popular models under (i believe it was) the MSC name.

So what is happening? Does anyone know? I haven't seen any new production SnGs around. (Other than the protech)

Strider knives is no more but Mick Strider designed the SnG, SMF, PT and others and is still making a version that I would call production under MSC and are priced accordingly. He recently sold out some SnG DGG's on his web site if you want to see an example. I don't know what the production numbers are compared to Strider, but they seem much lower. I believe some dealers had them also, and most likely they were at shows. They certainly could have made the situation clearer to their customers IMO.

MSC also makes custom knives and mid techs in variations of the same designs as the production-such as a custom or mid tech SnG.

You can find the “Classic line” from the MSC website. The will still have the Strider warranty attached. A handful of dealers get them too

I just went to their website. They seem to be split into Mick Strider Custom Knives vs Strider Knives (production)

Thank you! This is exactly the answer I was looking for. I guess I will have to find which distributors they are going to, website is as always sold out.

I think they haven't done many runs of the "classic" line so far. Supply has definitely dropped off, and the inflated prices on the exchange reflect that a bit.

The new ones are stamped M Strider vs old Strider. The ones I have seen have a swedge, so if that is something you like or dislike-keep it in mind.
