Due to manufacturers copying our award winning designs, and even coming to market prior to ours, along with customers being upset at what they consider long lead times with the intro of new products here on the forums, we have opted on the following changes:

1) No more First Look threads. We will not be showing off product prior to it being close to production.

2) No release dates or ETA info on new or existing product.

Thanks for your understanding concerning these changes, and let's be aware of this subject when posting within threads.

I am sorry to hear that Thomas but it makes perfect sense.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

I guess all the whining and nagging would get anyone down.

Personally, I don't know how you have made it this far along. Reading some of the threads reminds me of the classic kids in the back seat saying

"Are we there yet?"
"No."
"Are we there now?"
"No."
"When will we be there?"
"Soon."
"When we get there can I have what I want?"
"Maybe."
"Are we there yet?"
"No."
"Then are we almost there?"

I cannot imagine how tiresome that must be to handle in addition to your regular job.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for your endless patience. No one wants to see you gone, and if cutting down on trying to keep folks abreast of every aspect of Kershaw products and development does that, it sounds great to me.

Once again, thanks for all your great job you do.

Robert

The crying about lead times is ridiculous but theft of designs is criminal. I think that we'll live but I gotta say I've loved some of the threads with pictures of up coming knives. :o

those threads can still happen, they will just happen once the new knives are ready for shipment. i'll enjoy post production pics just as much.

What's that old saying? "No good deed goes unpunished"

Makes good sense.

I totally understand. It was cool while it lasted. I fealt like I was an "in the know" person. But I do understand and do love Kershaw and do not want them hurt by crooks just so I can feal special. LOL!!

As others have said, it was fun while it lasted, but I totally understand the reason for the change in practice. To put a positive spin on it from a consumer's perspective, it'll actually be kind of nice to know that once you guys start showing off a new model, it's only a short time until it hits the streets and is in our hands.

Hey Thomas, I understand this change in policy, but how about doing us a favor and not putting knives in your yearly catalog that are not in production and won't be for no telling how long? Thanks.

I'm sure the intention was for them to be in production when they put it in the catalog.

Zt has had the 0700, 0750 and 0780 in the catalog since 2010 if I remember right. A few 0700 were made but that is all. Someone asked when they would be out in Nov 2010 and Dec was the answer. I am hoping for Dec of 2012 now but who knows.

CYA is always best.
Under promise and over deliver.

If it's in the catalog asking about production should not even need to happen. If it's in the catalog you should be able to buy it.
