Whew, been packin' away the festivities since last week. I went to my daughters school, and had a turkey lunch two days in a row, then, Wednesday, I had a Thanksgiving dinner at my office. We do it up big, about 30 people, huge spread of food.

Yesterday, I spent all day at the in-laws, tearing it up. Today, I'm working on projects around the house, and tomorrow, is my last Thanksgiving dinner with my family.

Good gawd, no more.

Anyone else have lots of folks to dine with over this holiday of gluttony?

:D

Back to the salt mines, gotta get back to work.

Just one turkey dinner for me last night at my moms place. I'll be headed back to her place sometime today to get another meal from the leftovers and to steal some for sandwiches for work.

I don't think I need lunch today, for sure. Tonight is the night for meeting and drinking with old friends, headache guaranteed in the morning!

Where I work there's a free Thanksgiving dinner for anyone who walks in the door.

This year, about 45 folks. Happy Thanksgiving!

4 homes and 4 meals for me. Started at 11am, 2 hours per household so no one gets jealous or cries favoritism. Sucks being the child of divorced parents. Although Xmas was awesome as a kid

We did it up big time this year! I had a buffet at work on Wednesday. Every thing from fried Turkey to smoked brisket and all the sweets you could eat. Then yesterday my daughter had her 13th birthday and of course Thanksgiving with my mom and three brothers and their kids. I gotta figure somewhere around 10-12,000 calories in two days. Now I have to get my fat ass out of the house and burn some of this off. I'm rebuilding a transmission for a friend this morning and then I'll head out for some me time in the state park or maybe just go clear some brush back out at mom's. I know she's got some barbed wire fence down so that's probably the plan. I hope everyone had a great Turkey Day!

We had a small crowd compared to normal. There was 16 of us. We've had 35 here before for Thanksgiving. Anywhos, ate turkey for lunch, picked at it for the remainder of the day, then my brother brought some over to me last night. He did his on the Weber. Damn, that's the best turkey I've ever had. Except for the times when he did it before...think I'll go have a nice turkey sandwich.

I guess I am the exception here. Out T-Day dinner was just the wife, son, and I. Just like it has been for just about every one of the last 37 years. My wife's family is in Taiwan, mine are in New York and Chicago area. We have never gotten together for holidays. Not a very close knit family I guess. Forty years in and with the military, and all the travel, kinda put a damper on it in the early years, and we just got used to it.

So we had turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, veggies and all the normal trimmings just for the three of us. Wife and son worked in the kitchen all afternoon, argueing about proper recipes and cooking techniques, as usual. They are both excellent cooks. My wife always cooks enough for 12 people, so we will have leftovers and turkey sandwiches (my favorite!) for awhile. Works for us! :)

This is the first year I didn't have T-day at my mom's house. Really weird. But lots of good food and playing with the grandkids!

That took some getting used to for me as well. We always went to moms, but after I got married 4 years ago, it's always been here.

Just the three of us at my daughter's place, then she sent enough home with me to feed the three of us again. SOMEHOW I'll have to get through it all ... :D

if I wanted to drive back to my old hometown there's a half-dozen families that would have me but because of work I had to miss actual thanksgiving again. might have to go find some leftovers...

What?!

No turkey sandwiches, turkey pot pie, turkey salad, or turkey omelettes?

What is the matter with you?

That's a dangerous question. You trying to cause a riot?

Me, I'm a white meat guy myself... Which kills me, because I've taken an interest in hunting, and most game meat is a little on the dark/gamey side. I'm trying to like dark meat, but it's an effort.

Funny thing is, my daughter looked at me yesterday, while eating turkey, and pointed out that I'm the guy that always wants my food flavorful (i.e. well-spiced, and even spicy). She thinks dark meat takes just like white meat, just "stronger", so that I should actually prefer the dark meat.

White meat...

Only one Thanksgiving dinner, but much more turkey is to come. Sammiches, gravy, more sammiches, more gravy...
