***EDIT since the fire really isn't "laid" yet I changed it to SET UP***

***EDIT Number-2, the contest has already been won***

Ok...at 3,300 plus posts I know I'm running late for a give away...so I'll make it a pretty simple one. I'd like to give the newer guys a shot at this one first so for the first three days I'm going to limit it to members with 500 posts or less. After that it's fair game.

The scenario is that it has been raining off and on for days and most of the woods are at least very damp. There are 3 major no-no's going on with the Fire Set-Up in this photo, there may be another one or two in some people's opinions but I'm looking for a specific 3. I don't want the answers posted here just yet, so if you think you have it just post "I think I know it"...or something similar...and then email me at mistwalker[at]comcast.net

The first one to give me the three answers I'm looking for will win the nano striker in the picture with new o rings and ferro rod installed. The RC-3 is NOT included in the give away sorry :)

Just so you'll know, since the fire really isn't "laid" yet I changed the description to Set-Up , and edited that.

Well now...that did go quicker than I expected.

We have a winner, congratulations Machine26.

The issues were...

1) Green feather sticks will never catch a spark... and there is a big hunk of fatwood laying there.

2) The tinder is laying on wet ground...and there is a nice piece of bark laying there that would make a great base.

3) That Poison Ivy vine would be very dangerous to burn. Inhaling any of the smoke would likely lead to serious possibly even fatal respiratory difficulties. Always remember "Harry Vine, No friend Of Mine"

Good job Josh! Email me with a shipping address.

.

I did not catch the poison ivy vine in that pic. Saw the other problems.

Nice contest and good reinforcement on the fire building tech.

Thanks man, I wanted whatever contest I did to be skill related...but not requiring to go outside...not sure about everywhere else in the world but the atmosphere is a little "thick" here today.
