No offense, but I must ask.....

Been saving my money like the rest of you. Looked at the M6 at the store. I guess the new products will appear one at a time as some have predicted.

I have a Battle Rat (excellent, no - I have not used it). In looking at the M6, while impressive, it doesn't look a whole lot different from the Ratweiler - basically a Camp Tramp with micarta - still excellent.

Being of finite means, I wonder if I should jump at the cheese as each crumb falls, or keep saving and wait until other crumbs are placed in the maze. Am I the only one in a quandry? Am I a chicken instead of a Rat? What are you going to do?

P.S. Sterile or logo?

Check out this thread at the Swamp which has a listing of all new line models.

Sterile or logo...depends on the individual. I'd personally want an M6 with a logo just because all my other Swamp Rat knives are sterile...

If you do "jump" and decide that it wasn't as high up as had first thought, you can always deploy your reserve chute, errrrr, I mean sell the cheese, and apply that toward something else... ;)

As far as logo or no logo, I prefer the sterile look.

The M6 is smaller than the Rattweiller/Camp Tramp. The M7 is roughly the same size.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Rat Mastiff and M7 to show up.

I like sterile better for a user and logoed for a safe queen.

If you remove the coating on a SR blade that has the logo, do you remove the logo as well, or will it still appear on your now naked blade?

If its a black/black Battle Rat, is there any chance you would like to part with it.

Hi Cam,

Welcome to the Rat's little corner of BF.

I hope that you stick around and join our conversations as we wait for the new releases from the Swamp. But please be aware of BF policy to keep secondary market solicitations to the Blade Forums Exchange. There is a forum specifically for WTB ads.

Cheers,

:D

The M6 looks almost exactly like a Busse satin Jack TAC.

I'll hold out for models I like more.

My opinion as well. I already have a SJTac...so as tempting as it would be to acquire new cheese I think I'll wait a bit longer!

Ah, but they do feel very different. At least as I compare the Mole Jack and M6, they each have unique traits.

The Mole Jack has a more contoured/waspish grip, allowing it to be rocked in the hand. The thinner blade of the Mole Jack is MUCH quicker! Definitely more of a fighter.

The M6 is super rock solid with everything about it screaming "heavy duty." Wide, stable grip. Much heavier blade of wider stock.

The Mole Jack is closer in feelto the Desert Jack and the M6 feels more like... well... a Natural Outlaw E in a clip point.

I'm glad I have an opportunity to play with both.

Mole Jack? Wicked, fast.
M6? Solid, compact utility.

Yeah, I think that it would still be there...

After several years and several more thousand dollars, I'm beginning to feel that holding out for exactly what you want may be better advice than suggesting that you can sell one later. Theoretically, yes, you can sell one later, and usually make a few bucks in the process. In practice, however, you'll end up keeping the one you sorta like, and saving up for the one you really want. Then they'll come out with one you want even more... and next thing you know you have a bona fide collection even though you swear up and down that you're not a collector.
Just my experience, YMMV.
