Finally got my NMFSH after "2 weeks" of waiting! This is my first taste of INFI and this one is one hefty piece of serious steel. In pictures it looked large but when I got it is massive and heavy. I've read the specs but you don't really appreciate it until you hold it in the hand.

Balance is great and the magnum handles are comfortable (black micarta). It seemed heavy at first, but while chopping the momentum of the blade helps. About a dozen hacks got me through a 6" log without any fatigue or problems. At 5/16 thickness batonning was a breeze. I heard the log splitting as batonned. The edge was fine and was still swine shaving sharp.

There were no hotspots even without gloves. The NMFSH will be used and will be my go to blade. I will now officially retire my Gerber BMF. It has seen years of processing and I'm sure it can take more of a beating, but the NMFSH is just so much sweeter to use.

I'll have to work on getting some pants for it. The cardboard sleeve is fine but I don't suspect it will last too long.

Congrats Bro, I to just got one the other day and it's is one hunk of comfort iron:thumbup:. Welcome to the madness!!!

Nice man it was worth the wait! I've had mine for awhile and I can assure you it can take a beating and then some. I have the coating worn off over halfway up the blade by now.
