No Place Better To Say This

My father passed away on this day in 2008, and I later that year made my first pilgrimage to Blade, a little later that same year saw an idol fall off its pedestal and become human. Watched as a friend lost all he had, and another lose all dignity. A Grandmother in Law lose her battle with Alzheimers, and her husband lose his battle with himself. Watched helplessly a few years later as a friend lost the battle with ALS and had to leave three kids and a wife behind to pick up the pieces.

Tomorrow I watch as another good friend is sent onward to another path after a long bout with Alzheimers. A big man in so many ways, former athlete and veteran of the Air Force, coach, and community leader. Please think about his family tomorrow as they say goodbye to Mr. Bill as my daughter called him for many years. I will miss him very much. Goodbye my friend.

Thanks for listening my friends, its a difficult time of year made more difficult now.

This warrior send off for a fallen mate by the New Zealand army has always impressed me as an outstanding tribute from his friends and fellow soldiers . What a honourable way to have your life acknowledged .
