I can’t seem to private message. I cannot see the tab when I click on a members avitar. Is there another way?

That is generally the way to do it.

A couple possibilities.

The other party is not a paid member.

If they are a paid member, they may have changed their privacy settings to allow PMs from only members they follow or to not accept any PMs.
