No recess in Military blade?

Why doesn' t the Militarys blade tang have a slight recess milled into it where it rests on its blade pin stop? Wouldn' t that only help strengthen the lockup and help to minmalize play when torquing of the blade results from heavy use? Quite curious...

Hi Nakano. In theory, I guess. But the pin is hard and nested, the blade is hard. We haven't seen any peening of either the blade or the pin since we began making the model.
