Thanks Spark. I was wondering if history archives were kept of edited posts? I wanted to check an item I bought where the seller edited the thread after the sale.

No. Once it's edited, it's gone.
 
Ahh. Lesson learnt. I fell foul of a bit of sharp practice, where the seller described the knife and published photos, then on receiving payment, completeley deleted the thread so that I couldn't compare the description when my knife arrived, and there was a (minor,) problem. Ebay allows buyers to review edits to stop that sort of thing, alas I should have saved the original thread as an off-line copy to back up my claim.
Thanks anyway, I will be a little wiser in future!
