I was looking at the Danish fire axe on the Sportsman's guide and noticed this.

WARNING: Axes cannot be shipped to California, Arkansas, Connecticut, Idaho, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania. Please check your State, County and City laws for restrictions before ordering Axes.

The same warning appears on these throwing axes and this tomahawk but not this camp axe.

What gives?

The Sportsmans guide tends to have it's head up it's fourth point of contact. It's a publicly traded company so every little percieved liability is a big deal to them.

This is absolutely correct... The 'two piece suits' at the Board of Directors table are the ones to blame for this... Liability law suites means lost dollars... The old saying applies here too... "Follow the Money"... Must be politically correct you know, and tolerant of other people. Would'nt want to offend anyone you know, God forbid :barf: ... anal retentive a$$holes, eveyone of them!!

There are other methods of getting them mailed to you though, but probably the folks in charge of moderation here may not, and common sense would dictate, should not be discussed on an open public forum as this. I can make some possible suggestions that ARE legal, if you would like to email me privately at veritas.group@att.net ;)

Cheers~

Why jump through hoops because they are cowards? We're all better off in the long run if you give them a call and say: "Since you won't ship me an axe, I'm not going to buy any of your products." I've gotten their catalogs before, but I won't but anything from them now that I know about their business practices.

forget about the axe, but they will ship to PA a nice new Black powder rifle in your favorite caliber...... go figure........

Won't ship to Arkansas? I have NEVER seen any law here pertaining to axes. You'd think after 7.5 years of law enforcement I would know if it was out there. Wierd bunch.

Hmmm... I must'a just slipped in under the wire, because I got one from them late spring/summer this year. This is a growing trend that does suk bigtime. It's going to take more involvement with Org's like AKTI, to stop or reverse it, and even that may not overcome the sheeple factor.
