This may have been discussed, but here goes. As I sit here waiting for the sun to rise and the family to wake, I lurk all over the worldwide interstate picking out the next one that will be 'the last, I promise'. A few things I have wondered about. This is all over the map.

Is the dealer exclusive PM2 variant craze played out? All I seem to see are posts of ones pieced together from aftermarket.

Any love out there for the Toor Chasm and Merchant?

What is that threaded hole on M Strider PT titanium? It is on the straight side close to the last screw. Does not seem to match up for flipping the clip to that side.

I forgot how much I liked the Hogue EX-01 series, so yeah, had to get both 4" G-10 and aluminum.

Hope you all have a great Labor Day and hope I live long enough and remember I ordered that Chris Reeve Impinda that I have been waiting on.

I bought a used Toor Chasm R (recurve) a couple years ago for little $. I like it a lot as a small carry for package opening etc. I didn’t like the thumbstuds in the original configuration - they were large and protruding with sharp edges. I was able to unscrew them and clamp them in a drill to turn them down a little with sandpaper. The handle is great - the Strider-inspired shape and the tactile green painted titanium makes for a secure grip.

There’s a tiny bit of up-down and side-side play when the blade is locked out, but I only notice that when I crank on the blade with my hand. It definitely doesn’t feel like a heavy-duty small knife, but it’s fine for EDC and white-collar duties. It feels similar in sturdiness to that small knife that Spartan blades imports from Taiwan.

I have Version 1 with a definitely non-deep carry clip, but the clip is extremely low profile so I like it. I gather that they converted to deep carry on V2. The 154cm recurve blade is pretty easy to touch up on the corners of a Sharpmaker. I like mine, especially since I bought it secondhand for $65.

The whole economy has slowed , so dealer exclusive PM2 have slowed. Or stopped? Sooner or later the market has to get saturated.

I think it’s just the “same smell, different pile”. PM2 is a great edc. I don’t know why you would need more than one. Well unless you have a plain blade and a tanto! 😊

Less disposable income for people in general, demand has dried up and prices have dropped and might keep on dropping. Hell, even regular CRKs and some dealer exclusives are just sitting on the sites. (Knifeart).

I walked into my local knife shop here in North Alabama about a month ago and they are an authorized dealer of CRK. The store manager said things have slowed considerably. This dealer bought 30 Spyderco Stovepipes when it was originally dropped and they still have 28 that they cannot sell at $440(and yes they have a good website and solid brick and mortar shop). That’s about $13,000 in stagnant inventory. They’ll have to drop those to $295 and they still might not sell due to the lack of extra cash a lot people just don’t have as much anymore.

I love Spyderco overall….great company, great knives, great owner and history, just hated the price point for this specific model.

I do think the dealer exclusive PM2 and PM3 was overcooked and people lost interest, myself included. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very proud of my Spyderco collection and enjoyed the hunt of finding specific models but I’m not as rabid for the next dealer exclusive PM2/3 as I used to be.

By the way, one of my favorite PM2 models is my Jade/M4 drop point and tanto!! The action on the drop point is the a landslide above and beyond any other Spyderco model I own!!!! I also own an older Civilian which I think is one of the nastiest Spyderco models ever made. Cannot imagine the damage that would do if needed in a last ditch, life saving self defense situation.

Hoping 3rd time is a charm. I made a trade a while back for a tanto. Also bought a new to me wharncliffe with orange handle. The original blade shape didn't do anything for me.

During the Pandemic Spyderco restricted the number of Dealer Exclusives that would be made. Production lead time means that block of knives that would have been available now will never be. They've never clearly published the lead time a new version of a knife takes, just said "a very long time". I think the Slysz Bowie for Knife Joy was around 4-5 years from first confirmation till delivery.

I suspect there will be more PM2 exclusives in the future.

And……. I just saw this online for $300 dollars. Out of there ……. minds unless I’m missing something.

SPYDERCO SAGE 5 LIGHTWEIGHT COMPRESSION LOCK BURNT ORANGE 3" SATIN SPY27

I think the orange one is rex121. Spy27 would be blue.

Yep, you’re correct. They have it wrong on their website.

However, $300 for Rex-121, still ridiculous in my opinion. How much money can they have in a lightweight scaled compression lock. Labor cost must be killing them is all I can come up with.

Well, I did google fu that the hole on the PT is for moving the clip over. Seems you have to reverse the screw and collar for the clip tab to line up.

I bought a Merchant that was advertised at a lower price than the others listed on the same site. Took a shot and when I received it, the box had a sticker that read "display". So not knowing how many people checked it out, fiddled with it, was already nicely broken in.

S110v is already well past my needs, so I struggle with understanding why anyone would need Rex-121. For those who really want it, well there is a price to pay to get it.

I had a Toor Merchant 2.0. The finish felt like a Reeve Sebenza. They are nice knives for the price. I just want a big fan of their drop point blade.

Here’s the problem: every single possible permutation of PM2 has been produced and sold out…with one eexception…

Adamantium bronze DLC blade with Magnetic Dama-Meteor inlays in “Yurple” (yellow-purple) FRN with a left-handed Compression Lock and an Emerson opener sporting a Chartreuse Tasselated lanyard and Grogu bead.

Coming 2Q26 with a run of 12 at $68,975.88 MAP.

I don't think I actually see a question here or even an opinion.

What's your budget?

Check out Buck.

What's your style?

Check out Buck.

The CRK you ordered will answer all the questions you have, accurately and completely.

OP, calm down. You'll be ok with CRK. Unless you're addicted like the majority of us.
