No USA marking on Bugout 535BK-4 blade?

Why doesn't the 535BK-4 M390 blade have a USA marking on it? Every other blade, S30V, S90v, 20CV variants all have it.
 
Might be because M390 is made in Austria by Bohler
 
Yup, I'm pretty sure I've read thart they leave off the USA on M390 blades since they're sourced from outside the USA, all the other steels you mentioned are made in the USA.
 
yeah, i remember jason over on benchmade’s forum discussing that a few years ago
 
Interesting, it must be something they started doing in the last couple years because stuff like the Barrage, 761 Ti-Monolock, 710, still say USA. The SMKW 940, 485 Valet and Bugout do not.

the 710-1401 i used to have wasn’t marked “usa”, and i picked they up in 2016. i think they musta changed the markings back & forth a couple times, they tend to every once in a while
