I haven't seen anyone else posting for valley's contest, so there's no way I can let Canary win by default...LOL Just got my first DSLR yesterday, a Nikon D50. The degree program I signed up for finally gave me a good excuse to get one. Bye-bye income tax refund :( Anyway, here's some shots playing with shadows and depth of field in black and white.

... It's spreading! :D
LOL, ok, that was 4 fun, now I gotta get serious! :D Good luck to ya, and congrats on that camera!!!!! :)

Thanks Jaxx :D Now I just need to learn to use the damn thing :o Never used an SLR before.

I like where you're headed with that pic. Just one little thing. It seems a hair too crowded. Might be better with only 3. I'll tell you what why don't you send 3 to me and that will solve your problem;)

BTW- VERY nice work on that house:thumbup:

The D-50 is a great deal. I got my GF one for Xmass and borrowed it last week end. It is the first camera I have seen that when I run the image through software the software doesn't change anything.

I just want the useless extra 4 mega pixels of the next model so I can spend an extra grand.:o

Thanks Tony, now I know who to turn to if I have questions...LOL I ended up doing quite a bit of research before I settled on the D50. I completely lucked out in the end. Found one on Ebay for $450 BIN with free shipping. Some guy had bought it wanting to get more into photography, then decided he liked point and shoots better. Had less than 500 shots on it. All like new, in the box, with papers, 28-80mm lens, 1GB SD card, and a camera bag :D I would like to get a better lens at some point though. Looking at the Nikkor 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF lens. By chance you have any suggestions for someone on a budget? Would love to get one of the VR's but thats way out of my league right now :(

waaaaaaaaaaaa?

I havent even entered for the contest yet :) honestly, I havent actually been shooting for it.

As per the initial contest rules, you can only enter one photo. I don't think ValleyTinWorks has given the "go" yet?
