It's one of my favorites, but if you have to adjust the pocket clip good luck getting the screws out. The black model was tight but I got them out. I just got the silver model, and all three are impossible to get out. The screws fall apart before they unscrew.

I have almost every size allen wrench in both standard and metric, and of course none of them fit.

I feel your frustration and I apologize for the trouble it caused. I will get with the engineers to see what type/size wrench it takes to remove the clip. In the meantime, you should send that one in so we can fix it for you. Was the clip loose or something? What was the adjustment you needed to make?

I was going to remove it entirely and just carry it loose, or adjust the clip so it wasn't so tight (still not decided on that). I prefer to remove clips to adjust them (they don't always bend nicely when screwed down), so it was going to come off either way.

I finally got it. First I cut a large flat slot with a grinding disc so I could use a large flathead. This usually works, but the heads were still giving away.

I gave it a few freezing and heating cycles to try to loosen it up. I don't know if that really did it or my twisting efforts were just finally enough.

It looks like there is some kind of clear glue under the clip and on the threads, vs. red or blue thread lock.

The mystery glue seems excessive, and it also seems like these should really be either torx screws all around, or maybe just philips for the clip screws. Hex heads never work out.

The good news is I finally got my non-black Nobleman. I planned on buffing it down so it would be a mirror finish like the smaller model, but it's been so long since I saw a nice brush job this good I am going to leave it alone.

I don't know what kind of loctite or equivalent that they use on those threads but they did not really intend for them to be removed. I guess that if a lot of customers want the ability to remove or adjust them, we need to consider a change of some sort.

well Joe normanly i would concure with you...
but i keep thinking of the old 186 and all the screws that got "lost" and the mangling i have seen on some of them that some one used the wrong screws back in the hole...
Jest MHO i would leave it alone not all of the customers are as inclined as he is ... they dont know the diff of a no 1 or a no 2 ph--- make that an "X" point screwdriver
