Noisy ball detent on New Ti Military

Hi
Just got my Ti Military and noticed it was very hard to open the first few times and after a hard flick of the wrist I heard a squeaking noise when opening and closing..
Sounds like it coming from the ball detent..
Anybody else here have the same experience or do you think its a defect.?
should I wait it out .. put oil..etc..lmk
 
Sounds like normal breaking in. Try a small amount of oil.
 
Lubing the detent ball helps ALOT. I had the same problem with my G10 Military, smooth as glass now after re-lubing and use.
 
Agree with the above posters, I usually use a needle applicator to place a drop of oil in the detent hole and then work the knife open and closed. :thumbup:
 
I'll add that if this is the version without the steel lockbar insert, be careful not to get oil on the lock interface to avoid a sticky lock.
 
It has the steel bar insert...
I just added some oil and already got better...
Btw it's a lot stiffer to unlock vs the Domino and Sage 2 not sure if it's the pressure from the pocket clip..
