I purchased a new Sage 2 and when you open and close it it makes a scraping wisper like sound , will this go away when it is broke in , i told a friend and he said his Military does it also .

I have one with the same problem. I have lubed it and cleaned it and it's still there. I can actually feel the scraping in mine. It has not gone away after a good amount of use.

The knife is still totally functional and I have not worried about it. If it is an issue for you and the knife is new I would recommend contacting Spyderco.

maybe try putting a drop of oil on the bearing for the ball detent? I've found that tends to really smooth out some framelocks. It's easy to overlook and only lube the pivot, but the detent can be a source of friction too.

It could be the detent ball making it's "groove" in the tang of the blade. It could be dirt or sand or tiny bits of metal around the washers. Take apart, clean with rubbing alcohol and non-lint cloth, then use a bit of 3-in-1 or RemOil on the pivot and a drop on the detent ball, if it's still there... no idea then.
