Nokia 6085: how do I disable phone messages?

In other words, I want people who call my number to not be able to record an audio message. I want them to hear "this number does not accept messages" or something like that.

Looking at the manual here, no luck.

Try calling your voicemail (press and hold thenumber 1 button for like 3 seconds) and listen to the options. There is an option in the audio menu to disable (I'm pretty sure). I have not done it in a while, but I do recall a couple years ago with a T-Mobile phone I was able to disable voicemail.

It lies with your service provider. I have simply noted to all insundry that I don't listen to voice messages and on the greeting message say the same. I now get about 1 a year that I don't answer.
