I guess my status now would be an avid backpacker. I have a great love of the outdoors and my interests have shifted towards survival and bushcraft. However, my resources are very limited (being a broke third year college student) and there are many schools i wold like to attend but my knowledge grows with each book I read, every post on this forum and all the practice I can find time for. My family has been devastated by the sickness of addiction and I have a strong vision of taking out-patients into the wilderness to show them good medicine. I discovered that my school has an agreement with NOLS (national outdoor leadership school) and I will be going to the Rockies for a whole semester in the fall. Its not exactly the type of school I was hoping to attend but it seems like a great opportunity, especially because of the leadership skills it reinforces. I was just wondering if anybody has had any experience with NOLS that they might like to share
and since this is a blade forum, how can I get my Ka Bar to Wyoming and would it be a good idea or not to bring it? Thanks.
